Great British Weather!

For the second year running the great British weather forced the cancellation of the Village Cricket Tournament on Sunday 30th August. However, rest assured we will try again next year !!.

Another great Ball!

A magnificent party atmosphere, on a less than perfect summer evening.

Once the dining was done, the band came on and from then until 12:45 there was a continuous stream of hits from all eras, and the dance floor was occupied all night. Testiment indeed to a good night.

Another fantastic Creigiau Carnival!

Year on year the carnival seems to go from strength to strength. Helped by superb weather, this year’s was no exception.

This year’s theme “Goodies and Baddies” provided an ideal opportunity for people to let their hair down and dress up. Mind you I’m sure some need very little persuading.

On your marks.....

Well, the Carnival week got underway to a fine start with the annual fun run. As well as the usual few laps around the Rec, there were a number of new events this year. They included the Egg (or was it Potato) and Spoon, Three Legged Sprint and the new Olympic event, The Family relay.

Anybody seen Robin?.

In keeping with the Carnival theme, a number of "Goodies and Baddies" could be found roaming the Rec.

The Magnificent 7 !!.

Congratulations to the 7 members of the Creigiau 23 Skiing Team after returning still in one piece from their recent skiing trip.

Although, they have been skiers for many years it is only now that they have decided to push for Olympic glory. With ‘Mogul’ Mike, Phil ‘The Chair’, ‘Apres-Ski’ Amodeo, and 'Eagle' Eves leading the charge, let these age defying pioneers be an inspiration to us all.

Although he might not admit it, I am sure there were occasions when Adrian was like the proverbial duck. While unruffled and calm on the surface, the duck is paddling furiously underneath. On the odd dinner evening, whilst Adrian chatted casually at the bar, little did we know that he had only secured the speaker hours before.

Despite the cricket tournament being called off due to bad weather, all the other events were a resounding success.

This year's ball was slightly later in the Summer and was a Las Vegas themed Summer Ball. Headlining that evening was TOM JONES International Sex Bomb !!. More on that below.

I think everybody would agree that Adrian had a succesful year as Chairman, Well Done Ade!!.

Another great Night !

Although the numbers was disappointing, the people present had brilliant evening with good food and cracking entertainment.

The music was provided by the Fraser Lawson Band. They kept us dancing all night.

Just what the Doctor ordered.

At 10.30am on Boxing Day the fine people of Creigiau and surrounding district converged on the meeting place at the corner of the Creigiau Inn.

Approximately 250 walkers set off on this annual event which has in recent years grown beyond recognition and is firmly established as a premier community occasion and a cornerstone of the Christmas village season.

We stopped for a comfort break and refreshments at the delightful Craig Y Parc School (Scope headquarters) who kindly allowed us once again to use their facilities. Refreshments were a welcome diversion from yomping (it was easy really and the weather was great) and we all had a chance to mingle with other walkers. The mulled wine is always well received and the mince pies, pop, crisps etc were an excellent accompaniment.

After this short stop, everyone seems to find their way back to the Creigiau Inn where they continue to socialise with friends and neighbours.

Thanks to all the stewards, and also Jackie, Kath and Sarah for the refreshments and to everyone else who assisted.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Twas the night before Christmas and ........most people were in the pub!, but not the bold philanthropic members of Creigiau 23. Well not till later anyway.

Santa came to the village as scheduled by the committee and toured this year on his very own 21st century sleigh. This was the BruceWagon.

After touring the whole village handing out sweets, Santa arrived at the Church Hall, to the delight of all concerned. The children and parents loved it. Just seeing the look on their faces is enough to convince even Scrooge that Christmas is truly a magical time.

Thanks to everyone who helped, including the elves' wives for allowing them to look so ridiculous in pursuit of such a good cause and to everyone who assisted at the Church Hall. You know who you are and without your time and effort it would not be possible.

Oh what a night !

The evening started well with a three course meal and it wasn't long before we were dancing to the fantastic TOM JONES International Sex Bomb. He was real hit with the Ladies and even some blokes !!!

For those who prefered not to dance, there was a roulette wheel in the bar area. Each guest was given a Bank of Creigiau23 $100 note to play with. The person with the most money at the end of the night won a bottle of bubbly and a trophy !!! Congratulations to Ian Hughes.

After TOM JONES International Sex Bomb had finished, we didn't. The night continued with DJ Roger provding more opportunity to strut your stuff.
