 Chairman's Update

Season’s Greetings to you all.

With Christmas just around the corner, now is a good time to remind you of our annual festive activities for the entire village to enjoy.

On Christmas Eve, Santa will be touring the village on his sleigh; powered by Rudolph in his Mitsubishi pick-up truck. Santa and his Elves will give away chocolates to any children that greet him on his journey, and he will invite them; and all the children in the village, to his grotto in the Church Hall, at half past six in the evening. Oh what a joy.

At the Church Hall, Santa will welcome each child individually, or in groups if preferred by Mum or Dad, and give them a little goody bag to take home. In the other end of the hall the CAVMS Christmas Eve Ensemble will delight us all with a few of those traditional and not so traditional Christmas carols and songs. Feel free to sing along if you think you know the words.

We would ask that the front of the hall is kept reasonably clear so that the parents can get close enough to take photos, as and when their children are with Santa.

On Boxing Day, the Committee of Creigiau 23 will be going for a walk, from the Creigiau Inn at 10:30 a.m. For no apparent reason, many of the villagers follow this walk through our countryside. We very often come across a watering hole, where we enjoy light refreshments, before returning to the starting point where all and sundry gather to wish each other compliments of the season.

Boxing Day MarchIf anyone is considering following the walk, please be aware that you do so at your own risk. Our advice is that sturdy walking shoes are worn. The route will include public footpaths that can be very wet and muddy at this time of year.
Dogs should be kept on a short lead. There will be livestock; and some children, that can get spooked by loose dogs.

In the meantime, I’d like to wish you all a very, Merry Christmas.
