Santa comes to Creigiau.

S

anta was certainly not deterred by the 2012 wet weather from visiting Creigiau on Christmas Eve.

Last years ‘Santa’s Saxo’ having been fully refurbished by the busy little helpers - Bruce, Smiths Skips (and Dave) – and was spotted leaving the Tregarth Court area at sunset on Christmas Eve.

With the new (and old!) Elves on board, the Sleigh headed towards Park y Bryn (and thereafter visited most of the Creigiau roads, streets and terraces), with 'Jones The Voice', without any shadow of a doubt, announcing the exiting news that Santa and his Elves were in the area.

Santa and his 'Creigiau23' elves spent a few hours around the Creigiau village – whereby the weather conditions remained dry throughout - with the Elves running over to all Creigiau residents and exited children who were waving to Santa, and handed out Santa’s early Christmas gift (of the chocolate variety).

However, at 6pm prompt, Santa and his little helpers arrived at the Creigiau Church Hall to be welcomed by not only the Creigiau children and parents but also to the sounds of the CAVMS Brass Ensemble – who provided an excellent programme of Christmas music to the highest quality throughout the evening.

An orderly queue quickly formed within the Church Hall, whereby the 'indoor' Elves escorted 94 children to see Santa – who discussed their Christmas wishes and letters in depth - and provided each with a little early Christmas present and posed for every photo opportunity.

Whilst the children were waiting eagerly to meet Santa, free refreshments were provided by the Creigiau 23 wives who ensured that plenty of free mulled wine, mince pies, chocolate sweets and fizzy drinks were available to all which added to the festive activities of the evening.

Unfortunately, Santa and his helpers had to leave the Church hall, due to the busy night ahead, but did not leave until seeing all of the children who attended.

A big THANK YOU to Santa, and his Elves for again making this event possible and of course to the Creigiau 23 members and wives for their continued assistance prior to and throughout this busy and festive evening.
