hilst the stormy weather had caused travel disruption across the whole country, Santa's planned visit must have been touch and go. However, we needn't have worried as shortly after 4 o’clock on Christmas Eve, Santa escorted by his trusty elves, started on his journey around the village.

With ‘Jones The Voice’ away on his 'Holly-days', this year our Chairman returned to PA duties. A long term sporting injury had come back to haunt him and so was happy to leave the jumping around to some of the newer members. Perhaps he should visit an 'elf Club!! His place on Santa’s Saxo was taken by new Elf , Andrew, who alongside Gerry, Leighton, Marc and Bruce the driver, were all raring to go. Oh’ let’s not forget Santa himself too.

As they made their way around the village handing out chocolate bars, they were met with the usual cheering kids and even parents.

For the more observent ones out there, you would have heard a few new songs being played on Santa's PA this year, including his favourite, 'Blue Christmas' from, yes, you've guessed it, 'Elf-is Preseley'!!!.

With military precision Santa arrived at the Church Hall bang on time with the kids waiting patiently and the parents tucking into the free mince pies and mulled wine, he was greeted to the tune of Frosty the Snowman expertly played by the CAVMS Christmas Eve Ensemble.

In fact the mulled wine was not solely for public consumption, a few of the outdoor Elves were spotted knocking back a few glasses as they attempted to dry out and warm up.

It has to be said that a few might have over-indulged and so if they have a bit of an upset stomach tomorrow? They need not worry. All should be sorted after some 'elk-a-seltzer'!!

They don't get any better !!

Back to the Church Hall, where the Elves were keeping control and with xxx kids in attendance, that wasn't easy. Of course there were the usual suspects trying to got back for seconds, that was just 'elf-ish !!!

By now, it was time for Santa and his Elves to head off, after all, they were going to have a busy night.
