Ladies Night at Canada Lodge.

n recent years, the attendance for certain events has been disappointing, however, this year’s Ladies Night definitely bucked this trend. With the venue, Canada Lodge possibly raising the interest levels, it was nice to see over 110 in attendance.

The evening started with a quick drink in the Creigiau Inn, before boarding the shuttle bus for the short ride to the venue. Having said that there was still time for a sing-song. Altogether now, "Wheels of the Bus go round and round, round and…..", oh we’re there !

On arrival, one could not be more impressed with the lovely setting. Although obviously dark at this stage, the lake beautifully lit helped to highlight this stunning location.

Enough, of the arty stuff, off the bus and to the bar ! Oops bit of a queue, Kev is hogging it again, on top of that, the Guinness is off !

Once inside, the Ladies made a dash for the wood fires to warm up on this bitterly cold evening, in preparation for the dancing extravaganza to come, apparently !

As the three course meal drew to a close you had a chance to win some prizes with the traditional raffle. In fact you might have recognised one or two of the raffle sellers from Christmas Eve although not wearing their Elves’ costumes this time, oops , their secret’s out.

With Vice-Chairman Neil, at the mic, the raffle got underway. Who wins the first prize…..his next door neighbour !! Strange that !

Phil , the Chairman, then took over and thanked everyone that helped to put this event on, with a special thanks to Kath.

With the formalities finished, it was time to ‘Go Up to Get Down!’. So back upstairs we went. A few quicker than others !. It didn’t take long to warm up again, with The Elastic Band providing excellent dancing music.

Here are some more photos from the evening. We do have some more, but after taking legal advice, we thought it would be best not to display them!

With the band done, it was on to the disco for some more strutting or for some of the older ones amongst us, on to the bus stop for the shuttle home and some more…. "The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish….".

On behalf of Creigiau 23, we would like to thank you for coming and hope you had a great time.
