Guess what it is yet ?

Guess what it is yet ?

For the last few months passers by have not failed to notice a blue tarpaulin that has been used to cover a structure on the entrance into Creigiau.

Indeed guesses as to what it hid underneath varied wildly, from a grave !! to the first house on the proposed development plan !!!!

Cutting the Ribbonutting the Ribbon
Bruce Howell observes the Lord Mayor Derrick Morgan cutting the ribbon.

Finally on Monday 29th July, all was revealed by the Lord Mayor Derrick Morgan. As can be seen, it was a ........... new Creigiau sign.

As well as donating to local organisations and clubs, every so often Creigiau 23 embarks on a village project. This one, was instigated in 2011 by the then Chairman, Steve Link. The sign which was made from Welsh slate and stone took a few months to build although getting all the paperwork took about 2 years!!

Alun Holvey, Eurof Davies ( Current Creigiau 23 Chairman), Mo Vernon ( Stonesign Cardiff ), Bruce Howell, Lord Mayor Derrick Morgan, Dave Brown, Councillor Graham Thomas, Steve Link ( 2011 Chairman and current treasurer ), Matthew Barton.

Indeed a very large thank you must go to Steve for persevering when the red tape did appear to be choking the whole project. As well as Steve, a thank you goes to Glyn Jones for the design, and also to Dave Brown and Bruce Howell for the construction.

Thanks to Bam Construction UK

It is not often that we receive donations ourselves, but we would like to thank Bam Construction UK for their generosity after a recent donation, a marquee !!. After the previous was destroyed last year, the new one will come in handy. Its first outing will be the carnival. See you there !!!

Update : Here is the marquee being erected by our volunteers.

It only seems like yesterday when Gerry took over as Chairman, and now his year has now come to an end.

After a very eventful year I?m sure all members would agree that it was another successful year under Gerry's chairmanship.

Well done Gerry, you can now put your feet up!!
