Pétanque Challenge .

The Challenge

After a few failed attempts over the summer months, the Creigiau 23 v The Petanque Club challenge finally took place on Sunday 13th of October.

The afternoon started with a short explanation of the rules and scoring from Keith and with everybody dressed for the occasion, in their thermal and waterproofs !!!!!, the challenge began.

The games were played in a melle format, with a Creigiau 23 member paired up with a Petanque Club member.

A bit damp !

As the rain continued, it didn’t seem to bother some of our players , with Dewi and Matthew going well, along with Keith from the Petanque club who led the scoring. Indeed it didn’t bother Keith at all, who played all day in his T-Shirt !!!

The day provided a few memorable moments with Glyn showing off his knowledge of the 3 and 4 times tables!! NOT. Adrian too , with his inter–society diplomacy !!!

With the rain easing, some late ‘shooting’ meant that it was going to be a close finish.

So it was then down to Keith and Sian to retire to the pavilion to practice the black art of Petanque scoring.

A few minutes later the winners were announced.

With the challenge now firmly established in the calendar, we hope to see you again next year, as we attempt to win the trophy back.
