Another superb Summer Ball

On what must have been the most balmy evening so far this year, the guests arrived at the Golf Club for our annual Summer Ball. Once there many enjoyed the opportunity to sit outside for a while before dinner was served.

Then with everyone seated, Dave Dawkins offered the customary grace followed quickly by Chairman Neil Humphreys suggesting that the gentlemen could remove their jackets. Phew, !!! The relief in the room was audible.

The caterer provided a veritable feast for everyone, with a Smoked Salmon starter, followed by a choice of Duck, Lamb, or Sea Bass.Dessert was a Strawberry and Cream individual trifle, followed by Cheeseboard and Coffee.

At this point, Neil formally thanked everyone for supporting this event which was our curtain dropper for the carnival period.

He went on to thank everyone for their help and support during the carnival itself, which incidentally will probably prove to be the most successful ever. The room acknowledged the hard work of the main carnival committee with a round of applause.

With the formalities over, it was now time to let your hair down. Entertainment for the evening was provided by ‘A Casual Affair’, who were an instant hit, and the dance floor remained full all night.

The night once again flew by, with everyone having a great time. The departing guests could be heard discussing how much they had enjoyed it, and how much they were looking forward to the next one.

It is obvious to see by looking at these photos that a good time was has by all.

Once again we would like to thank everyone including the Carnival Committee and the Cricket Club for supporting us on this evening.

And finally,

a huge thank you to our current Vice Chairman Steve Link and his wife Julie for organising the evening. Controlling the menu choices for about 110 guests was no mean feat.
