Another superb Summer Ball

The Creigiau 23 Summer Ball has proved to be a popular event during recent years and so the ‘pressures’ on those arranging the event increase exponentially to ensure that the high standards expected for the Ball are maintained !

This year being no exception, and with the assistance of the Creigiau Golf Club and their magnificent Catering team, the preparations for the Summer Ball was clearly visible throughout the evening.

Guests arrived at 7.00pm to a welcoming venue – with an array of dining tables carefully configured and decorated - even with summer fruits on the table for guests to enjoy !

At 7.30pm the Golf Club bar bell rang to announce that the meals were to be served. With all seated, the Chairman – Mr Alun Holvey – asked Mr Dave Dawkins to offer the customary grace.

With some light background music, the meals were served which included starters of ham serrano with Asparagus and Aioli or a Salmon salad with rocket and horseradish dressing followed by medallions of fillet of beef bonnie prince Charlie or a breast of guinea fowl with wild mushroom sauce. To follow the succulent main course a summer pudding, chocolate parfait or cheese and biscuits was available to complete the sumptuous three course meal.

Following the meal, the Chairman – Mr Alun Holvey – thanked all guests for supporting the event and announced that the traditional raffle would then be drawn and introduced the Creigiau 23 Vice Chairman - Mr Glyn Jones (who received rapturous applause) to lead the raffle activities. This year we are proud to confirm that the proceeds will be donated to Parkinsons UK

Following the successful raffle – with special thanks to those who generously donated – Glyn introduced the evenings entertainment 'The ElasticBand' – a live vocal harmony band – who thereafter ensured that the dance floor was fully occupied until the midnight hour.

It is fair to say that a spectacular evening of entertainment was received by all and a special thank you for the Creigiau Golf Club and their Catering Team for ensuring the high standards expected were achieved.
