C

reigiau 23 were pleased to organise a Vintage Tea on the 28th November at the Church Hall, for the older residents of the village.

A delicious tea comprising of a variety of sandwiches and cakes was prepared by Jackie Burns and Sian Williams, all washed down with lashings of tea served in fine china tea cups.

The hall looked fantastic and was dressed in bunting, flags   and large posters of old adverts, all supplied by Adrian Burns. In order to add to the ambience, old fashioned vintage tea music was played.

Part way through the tea, Olwen Roberts spoke about the Creigiau Companions group and Phyllis Preece, (Chair of the National Pensioners' Convention), Sean Overbury and Amber Powell, ( both from Age Cymru),  spoke about the Age Cymru Handy Van service.

The tea was accompanied by a really challenging picture and general knowledge quiz!

During the tea, Alyson Powell of Age Cymru was on hand to answer questions and give advice and information on a range of topics affecting older people.

We would like to extend a big thank you to Hanna Davies, Tom Burns, Tomos Angell and Rhys Powell, all Ysgol Plasmawr pupils, for serving the tea.

Feel free to view our photo gallery.

Also a big thank you to some other Creigiau 23 members who helped by generously giving their time to make the afternoon successful, namely Dave Tovey Brown (chief remover), Eurof Davies (chief photographer), Matt Barton (first aider) and Alun Holvey (chief poster putter upper! ).

In addition,  many thanks to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle.

We all had a lovely afternoon and hope this event can be repeated again in the future.
